Hardet Shoot and Stephanie in the Sun

Hardet

During my shoot last Wednesday with Vanessa Tait (see more on that shoot in this post), she told me that a local shop stocking Hardet clothing was looking for someone to shoot a few pieces of their stock with her, I of course said yes and the Saturday after we made our way to the beach to get shooting!

The weather was amazing, or at least it seemed amazing compared with what we have been having for the past year or so haha. And although the sun was welcome it took me a while to get into the flow of shooting in such harsh sunlight again, definitely something I would like to have more practice in, mainly because I don't have to wear a coat. :P

We just had a couple of hours and a couple of bits of clothing but I am happy with what we got and I think we got the right feel in the images. :)

Here is a back of camera preview from the day and a work in progress:

Stephanie in the Sun

Last weekend also marked my 8th shoot with the wonderful Stephanie (Who was also recently signed to Leni's Model Management, I couldn't be more pleased for her! Magazine covers and travelling the world soon no doubt! :D ).

The fantastic weather continued into Sunday and it meant we were able to get some photos in the sun for the first time in AGES! It was still cold but it was better than rain. :P Stephanie came down and we met in central Brighton in the morning, after that we made our way back to mine to prep for the shoot. Not only is Stephanie a wonderful model but has been trained as a make-up artist. As well as that she also styled this shoot. Shes super efficient! :D

After the make-up was sorted we took a trip down to the beach for our first look, we were a bit worried that protests happening in the city would ruin our location but as luck would have it they had all either buggered off or had been arrested by the time we arrived.

Despite the sun it was actually colder than we thought on the sea front and also quite windy, the hat we had for this look decided flying away was a good idea. Damn hat! We survived though and that's what matters. :P

After that we made our way back to mine again to change up the make-up for the next look.

And again after that for the final look.

And that wrapped up about 5 hours of shooting! And I can't wait for the next one! :D But in the mean time I have over 20gb of photos to edit so I won't be seeing natural light for a while. :P

Shoot with Vanessa and Leni's Test Day

Leni's Test Day

A couple of weeks ago I went up to
Leni's Model Management office to shoot some of their new faces! You can read a bit more about the trip up here in my previous blog post here.

Here are some of the images from the day!

All of these beautiful models can be found on the Leni's site, they are (in order):

Anastasija L
Georgia Stensness

Alena D

Tia B
Delita

Shoot with Vanessa

Last Wednesday I had another shoot with the beautiful Vanessa! We met up in Brighton and made our way back to her house for a boudoir-ish kind of shoot, but a bit more edgy and fashiony... I think haha.

Anyway it was a great shoot and it was fun to shoot indoors again as I am usually outside in the freezing cold. And I'm sure Vanessa felt the same way. Curse our English chills.

Here is a little back of camera preview from the day, more to come in a future post once I've got my huge backlog of editing done. :D

Fog Wind Rain, Poster and Giveaway Results

Fog Wind Rain

For the past couple of months I have been working on setting up a photo shoot with the super talented duo Torie and Lydia who are local stylist and make-up artist respectively. I had seen their fantastic work with other photographers and models and I was eager to set something up with them. And the fact that we all live in Brighton is a bonus haha.

After some moodboard swapping and looking through designers pages we decided on the general theme and direction of the shoot and set the date! We met up last Wednesday along with the beautiful Becca of Leni's Models at Lydia's place to prep for the make-up and decide our first three looks.

After that we made our way to the seafront to shoot, unfortunately the sun decided to bugger off and left us with lots of cold wind and a rather large amount of fog, this of course didn't stop us but being warm would have been nice. :P

After that we went back to set up for the last three looks and then we made our way to a local park, this is when the aforementioned rain appeared. We managed to wrap up the shoot just before it got too bad!

I'm busy editing now so keep an eye out for a future blog post with the finished images! :D

Poster

Over the past few weeks I have been slowly putting together a poster for an upcoming Oxfam event that is being held at the shop I volunteer at. Each year since I have been there I have been helping out on the posters but this year is the first time I have really put the whole thing together from scratch.

So far it's been a great way to practice using the pen tool in Photoshop which is something I hadn't really incorporated into my work before. I'm not sure how much I will use it outside of this kind of work but it's great to get used to using it! :D

Here is a little work in progress preview:

Giveaway Results

The print giveaway I started a few weeks back has come to an end and I Have picked three names at random from the pile and here it is, the winners are: Sevgi Ky, Chris Collins and Kait Dean. Congratulations! You have won an A4 print of your choice from my Skeleton Project! :D If you entered an didn't win not to worry, I will do another giveaway in the near future!

Nine Shoots and Get Inspired

Nine Shoots

Last week I took a little trip up to London to pay a visit to the Leni's Model Management office to shoot a few of their new faces. I set up in a spare room of theirs and one by one a model came in and we had a little less than 10 minutes to get some portraits done! It was the first time I had worked with so many models in one day, and with such a small amount of time each.

Despite the constraints we definitely got some great photos! And it was a good challenge to try and get something different with each model in the same location in just an hour or so.

Here are a couple of previews from the day:

Get Inspired

In other news, my shoot with Sara Grabek and Annabelle's Wigs that I posted the other week entitled Wayward Flame was published in Issue 8 of Get Inspired Magazine! But not only do we have 8 pages inside the magazine but we also have the cover, which is amazing to me! It's the first cover I have had since I have been photographing people. You can download the full issue here!

Swimsuit and Dots Part 1

Swimsuit and Dots Part 1

Back at the beginning February I had a test shoot with the super talented make-up artist
Angela Amelia and the beautiful Ola of Leni's Models at the Brighton Media Centre studio. You can see the behind the scenes blog post here.

The shoot was divided into two main looks, the first was a sixties inspired swimsuit set and the second was a colourful make-up focused set of portraits.

Here are a few images from the first set:

You can see the full set on my website here. And be sure to keep an eye out for the second set in a future blog post! :)
