Shooting at the Pergola

Pergola

Over Easter I was looking to get some people together to shoot something new, I got an email from a stylist called
Christianne, she had access to some amazing designs. Although we didn't end up shooting over the holiday we continued the planning which finally lead up to last weekend! I had wanted to shoot at the Pergola in Hampstead Heath for a few years now and when Christianne sent me the designs for one of the dresses we would be using I knew it would be the perfect location!

Myself and the rest of the team each made our way to the location on Saturday morning, the team was fantastic and you can find them and their work online here by following these links:

Model - Rosemarie TPaulo-Ribeiro Management.
Make-up - Courtney Scarlett Boyd.
Styling - Christianne Lucianne.
Styling Assistant - Jay Singh.
Dress Designers - Talya Valdona and Rachel Deeming.
Jewellery Designers - Scarlett Sturrock and Revivial.

The day started out quite sunny, albeit pretty windy. Unfortunately that wind seemed to blow a load of rain our way and just as we were getting into shooting it tipped it down. As luck would have it there were a couple of sheltered places and we stayed dry for the most part! During the breaks in the rain we managed to get the images and footage we needed! And just in time before everyone started to either freeze or drown.

After a good few hours of shooting we wrapped up with the final look and made our way back to the station as the sun game out. I'm not surprised any more haha, it always seems to end that way.

Here is a little back of camera preview from the first look of the day!

Be sure to keep your eye out for a future post featuring the images from this shoot, they are set to be good! :D

Also on the way back from the shoot as the sun was going down I took a few landscape photos, something I don't usually do, but I really liked how the rocks looked and I thought they might be good for something later. :D

A Day in the Park

Day in the Park

The other week I got in touch with the beautiful Stephanie to shoot a little summer themed editorial, I knew would be perfect for it! But also, if there is any excuse to shoot with her I will take it. :D

After a bit of planning we got round to shooting last Thursday at the wonderful Battersea Park, I had never been there myself but I had seen photos and have wanted to shoot there for a long time. I will definitely be going back, there is so much left to explore!

As luck would have it the sun was actually shining for most of the shoot and it was pretty warm too! We definitely need more of those kind of days please, cloud god... if you're listening... go away.

As these are hopefully for submission I can't show much but here is a back of camera preview and a couple of behind the scenes type images. :)

I have a rather limited time to edit these so I might be able to show the final images sooner than usual, keep an eye out for them in a future post! :)

Wesminster and Indoors

Westminster

Yesterday I had another test shoot with one of the new faces at
Leni's Model Management this time with Tessa, who just recently arrived from Hong Kong! We met up at Victoria station and made our way to Westminster to shoot around some of the amazing architecture in that area.

The weather over the past week or so had been wonderful and I wanted to make the most of it while I had the time, typically though it didn't go that way. After about 20 minutes walking to the Location in the warm morning sun and setting up once we arrived it almost instantly changed. The sun went in, the wind started up and a mini monsoon decided to arrive!

The location we were shooting at was the only shelter around and I thought it would be cool to shoot there while it was raining but within seconds about 15 tourists flocked inside and started walking over our equipment and eating fried chicken... quite annoying! We waited it out along with our new 'friends', luckily it stopped for about half an hour and we were able to get the shots we needed.

After that we started exploring for a 2nd location and as we found the perfect place it started to HAIL! Of all things. Despite this Tessa was amazing and kept going and we got some great images! :D Here is a little back of camera preview.

As I sat on the train home glorious sunlight appeared again. I was not surprised. :P

Indoors

A couple of weeks ago I had an indoor shoot with model Vanessa Tait. It was the first time in ages that I had done an entire shoot indoors and not in a studio setting and even longer since I had shot anything with a boudoir kind of feel.

Here are a few final images from the shoot! :)

Hardet Shoot and Stephanie in the Sun

Hardet

During my shoot last Wednesday with Vanessa Tait (see more on that shoot in this post), she told me that a local shop stocking Hardet clothing was looking for someone to shoot a few pieces of their stock with her, I of course said yes and the Saturday after we made our way to the beach to get shooting!

The weather was amazing, or at least it seemed amazing compared with what we have been having for the past year or so haha. And although the sun was welcome it took me a while to get into the flow of shooting in such harsh sunlight again, definitely something I would like to have more practice in, mainly because I don't have to wear a coat. :P

We just had a couple of hours and a couple of bits of clothing but I am happy with what we got and I think we got the right feel in the images. :)

Here is a back of camera preview from the day and a work in progress:

Stephanie in the Sun

Last weekend also marked my 8th shoot with the wonderful Stephanie (Who was also recently signed to Leni's Model Management, I couldn't be more pleased for her! Magazine covers and travelling the world soon no doubt! :D ).

The fantastic weather continued into Sunday and it meant we were able to get some photos in the sun for the first time in AGES! It was still cold but it was better than rain. :P Stephanie came down and we met in central Brighton in the morning, after that we made our way back to mine to prep for the shoot. Not only is Stephanie a wonderful model but has been trained as a make-up artist. As well as that she also styled this shoot. Shes super efficient! :D

After the make-up was sorted we took a trip down to the beach for our first look, we were a bit worried that protests happening in the city would ruin our location but as luck would have it they had all either buggered off or had been arrested by the time we arrived.

Despite the sun it was actually colder than we thought on the sea front and also quite windy, the hat we had for this look decided flying away was a good idea. Damn hat! We survived though and that's what matters. :P

After that we made our way back to mine again to change up the make-up for the next look.

And again after that for the final look.

And that wrapped up about 5 hours of shooting! And I can't wait for the next one! :D But in the mean time I have over 20gb of photos to edit so I won't be seeing natural light for a while. :P
