The Difficult to Arrange Shoot
For the past month or so I have been trying to arrange a shoot with Angela to try out some make-up ideas, mostly for testing but to hopefully get something for submission too. And last Sunday we finally got round to it!
Just about everything that could go wrong did go wrong while trying to get this shoot together, firstly the studio we were going to use was busy, then it snowed, models were ill or couldn't make it, some didn't want to do it. We had to postpone about four times in all and even when we got there the keys to the studio weren't available and neither was the stylist who was going to collaborate with us and we could only book one model in the end. And on the way to the studio from the station the car broke down and then it started raining...
However! Despite all the nonsense with planning, everything worked out well and we got some great photos! And it gave me the chance to have a go at styling too, it's not bad if you can find the clothes. :D
Here are some behind the scenes photos from the day and a preview of one of the looks. :)
And here is a back of camera preview and a work in progress too. :)
Credits for the shoot are:
Model: Ola from Leni's Models
Make-up/hair: Angela Amelia
Photographer: Me.... obviously. :P
Studio: Brighton Media Centre
I have shot at the Brighton Media Centre before but it wasn't for a personal project and that really makes all the difference. Having some space to shoot in was wonderful and it's such a great studio. Two lights and my Bronica... the ideal setup. :D One day I will have my own hopefully but for now hiring will have to do. :P
Love this behind the scenes stuff. This looks like it was a great shoot. Is it new for you to do white wall stuff? Can't wait to see them edited!
ReplyDeleteCheers Chris! Yeah the last time I did it properly was for the piece I did in the Lara Jade Fashion Photography 101 book, makes a nice change from location work although that is still my favourite. :)
